The fire service is a community

The fire service is a community. This group of people is a community because we share a common interest and job. We are all at the fire station together atleast every tuesday night. The group is held together because it is our job, but also we all like to hang around the station to et on calls. Our common iterests are of course being a firefighter, yet there are so many different areas of the fire services that everyone has their favorites. For example, you might have one firefighter that loves to drive the fire truck, while the other would rather be in charge and sit in the officer seat.

Differences that present in the fire service are many. I think of a fire station of being as bad as a highschool when it comes to drama. We are so close that someone always has a problem woth somebody. Most of the issues arise when tecniques are involved. Someones's way is always better than the other persons. For the most part though, we are like family so everything blows over within the day.

This community is my passion in life. I think I fit in because I am a firefighter that can relate to all of the other members of my department. We all live to go on calls, yet complain when we have to wake up for one. If i weren't a part of this community I don't know where i would fit it!
